The "Pathways Collection" by Russian Watercolor Painter Edouard Efanov (b.1938) possesses a subtle sense of beauty and a love for the land that surrounded his village of Krenoyoye, on the outskirts of Voronezh in Southwest Russia. It was the splendor and purity of the countryside that inspired Efonov's charmingly understated watercolor paintings to define the typically unobserved elements of nature like the tree tops or stumps, reflections in the water, and even tracks in the snow over all else. Efanov avoids using atmospheric perspectives traditionally used to indicate depth in exchange for creating his own signature style that is 'progressively modern'. Efanovs style flattens the image by blending the fore, middle and background. He still manages to convince the viewer that the painting has dimension by crisply defining forefront elements with a heavier color viscosity. The composition is composed of mellow colors including blue, purple, navy, green, brown, cream, white and black with a grey mat and a Gold Leaf frame. Made to order in the USA.
